Hi! Let me tell you my story and my passion. I’m a single parent of two wonderful boys with a hardcore passion for futból. Being a mom and a pediatric dentist, my love for children makes me want to contribute to our society, making it a better place. Using my dental background, I have been fortunate to help many kids locally and abroad, providing dental care, but as an immigrant, I wanted to join forces with my boys’ soccer passion and my passion for community service, and came up with the idea of helping immigrant children discover this amazing sport. 

As a mom, it was always hard to navigate the soccer options available in my community. A lot of what I learned and found was through word of mouth via the moms of other classmates, and street signage advertising events. The process of finding a club was quite challenging, and navigating it was even more challenging. The last few years have been a learning curve to get to where my boys are in a competitive level of the sport, and it has also been a very expensive one. 

I have always tried to put myself in other people's situation (shoes), and this is not a very inclusive sport due to the high cost and time commitment that it requires. Thinking of an immigrant family trying to navigate seems very challenging to me. I imagine when I first came to the States from Chile at the age of 11, my parents would have had such a hard time understanding all the options, try-outs, time commitments, and due to cost, it would have been something that I would not been able to pursue. 

I want to help our community and our immigrant families have one place to seek information and options, and have access to financial aid as needed for their children to be able to participate in such an amazing sport, so popular all over the world. 

We know all the benefits that a sport can bring to our children, so let’s help more kids have access to it.
